Duke of Clarence 1226526 Duke of Clarence Lancashire & Yorkshire Railway A sepia printed photo postcard from the Photochrom Sepiatone Series, featuring the Duke of Clarence. She was built in 1892 for the Irish Sea services by the L&YR / L&NWR. From 1906 to 1922 she operated for the L&YR on the Hull to Zeebrugge service. In 1922 she transferred to the LMS Railway. Empress of France 1227705 Empress of France Canadian Pacific A company printed art postcard featuring the Empress of France. Art is by Odin Rosenvinge. She was built in 1914 as the Allan Line's Alsatian. In 1919 she became the Empress of France for Canadian Pacific. The card is an old Allan Line card for the Alsatian and Calgarian which has been overprinted to the front with the new company and ship name. The reverse still refers to the Allan Line steamers! Overprint for a Salisbury agent to the reverse. Very light corner and edge wear with light album corner impressions. Very light marking to the front. Extremely light marking / ageing to the reverse.
